Meet your trainer
Lauren Wilson is an All-American Triathlete who recently competed at the 70.3 World Championships held September 7th in Mont-Tremblant, finishing with an official time of 5:00:19. With more than a decade of experience in the Health & Wellness field, Lauren has helped hundreds of clients and athletes improve their fitness and achieve healthy milestones that they did not think were possible. She describes herself as the “girl-next-door” health fanatic, with a passion in health education. Lauren’s specialties include fitness programing and management, health coaching and running clinics.
Since I was little, you could always find me outside running, riding my bike or swimming in the ocean, even playing competitive water polo. I loved all sports and ran competitively at the University of South Carolina, where I graduated with a BS in Sports Management. My passion for fitness led to a career in health & wellness, where I have a combined 10 years experience in areas of health education and promotion, program development, marketing and sales.
Before Wilson Coaching … From 2004-2009 I worked at Hilton Head Health, America’s premier destination weight loss spa located in Hilton Head, SC. Initially serving as Fitness Director, I provided lifestyle coaching, personal training and helped facilitate an intensive weeklong specialty program designed and dedicated for individuals in search of reaching their optimal fitness levels. I wore many hats throughout my career at Hilton Head Health, and helped develop and implement health programs to assist hundreds of clients, as they sought to improve their overall wellbeing.With a desire to gain experience in corporate wellness, in 2011 I pursued an opportunity to work for Viverae, a national leading provider of comprehensive health management. I served as Wellness Coordinator to McLeod Health Hospital, delivering health-related lectures and educational materials to more than 5,000 employees. I then moved on to Account Manager and oversaw one of Viverae’s most prestigious accounts, Genesis Healthcare’s Living Well wellness program to over 30,000 employees.
In January of 2013 I left the corporate world to oversee Community Outreach events at the Charleston Bicycle Company, a local bike shop located in Charleston, SC. My focus included supporting our local cycling, triathlon and running community through events, races and clubs. As I became more embedded in the local athletic community and started working at the Medical University of South Carolina Wellness Center, I was inspired to launch Wilson Coaching, where I currently coach and train local athletes as well as throughout the United States.
1998 – 2000 University of South Carolina Cross Country & Track & Field team member. Participated in over 50 road race including 5k’s, 10k’s, Half Marathon’s and Marathon’s.
